In 1999 Matt Hammond and Matt Lawson built their first website together - an early social networking site aimed at the youth demographic called "TeenConnect.com" - in some ways a precursor to MySpace and Facebook, the project ultimately went bust in the 2001 "Internet Bubble", but not before instilling a love for website development and marketing in its two young founders. A few years passed, and Hammond went on to head a large construction company in Monterey, California, while Lawson remained focused on website development: though they continued to work together - Lawson often being called on to consult and provide additional development support for various websites and online marketing efforts in coordination with the construction projects Hammond was running. In 2007 the housing economy started slumping, and Hammond realizd that the project management skills developed in running a 50 home subdivision were fairly similar to that of managing professional website design and development - so he started plying his skills as a web marketer on a freelance basis until Lawson one day called him up and suggested they found a professional website development company he jumped right onboard. And thus, MediaLabPro was founded by the "Two Matt's": Matt Lawson and Matt Hammond after nearly a decade of building websites together; bringing together over two decades of website develoment and project management experience. Since then, a small team of experts has been added to the team to supplement design and more raw coding strength to MediaLabPro's roster, and by developing their own custom online project management system as well as a host of supporting web services such as hosting and SEO, MediaLabPro has established itself as a reliable and professional website development company boasting a loaded portfolio and long list of satisfied customers. |
